The Zenith brand was founded in 1865 in Le Locle, Switzerland, by Georges Favre-Jacot, a visionary young watch-maker, eager to create the most precise and reliable timepieces of the era.
By the 1900s, Zenith watches were known worldwide for both performance and luxury and, in 1969, the brand developed a high-frequency automatic integrated column-wheel Chronograph, powered by the legendary Zenith ‘El Primero movement’, beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour.
To this day, the brand is one of the rare manufacturers capable of producing all parts of its watches – in fact, Zenith has been awarded over 2000 chronometry prizes to date, making it the most decorated in the field of precision watches.
This limited re-edition Zenith Cronometro Tipo CP2 men’s wrist watch is a heritage model, based on an original military timepiece, issued to Italian pilots in the 1960s.
Water resistant to 10 ATM, the watch features a black bidirectional rotatable stainless steel bezel with graduated aluminium insert and a winding and setting crown with Zenith star.
The matte black vintage looking dial is decorated with white painted numerals and scales, Arabic hour markers and Rhodium plated hands coated with Super Lumi-Nova.
The watch is a 2 register chronograph, with small seconds dial at 9 o’clock and 30 minute counter at 3 o’clock, and is powered by a Zenith ‘El Primero’ in-house 4069 automatic movement with a power reserve of 50 hours.
This strong and practical timepiece combines modern day attributes with the nostalgia of vintage military watches.

This piece was purchased new by its original owner in June 2019. A limited edition piece (number 03xx of 1000) the watch is sold with its original and highly attractive jewellery style box along with all papers and manufacturers warranty card.
The watch has an original Zenith black, rubber-lined Calfskin leather strap with folding steel deployant clasp and is in excellent overall condition, with no notable marks.
